The Asperger/Autism Network (AANE), headquartered in Watertown, MA with a national reach, works with individuals, families, and professionals to help people with Asperger's and similar autism spectrum profiles build meaningful, connected lives. Elsa Abele, an early member of the AANE community, was instrumental in helping AANE fulfill its mission. From running social groups for children and adults on the autism spectrum to training professionals, Elsa was a patient, thoughtful, and effective educator. Her thought leadership in the autism field, coupled with her love for education, helped build understanding and served to strengthen AANE over the years.
Which is why AANE wants to honor Elsa's legacy by dedicating its training space to her.
AANE and Elsa's vision is to transform the organization's current training space to the Elsa Abele Training Center, equipped with state-of-the-art audio and visual technology and new furniture. With these changes, AANE will be able to host workshops, seminars, and other types of training events that are comfortable for all AANE community members: adults on the autism spectrum, family members, and professionals.
